Our association "Rođen Negde Dole / Born in Serbian Province", on February 28th 2020, celebrated 20 years of its existence with an exhibition and concert at the premises of the Svilajnac Cultural Center. On this occasion, we will introduce you to our story.

Non-profit association of citizens (NGO) "Rođen Negde Dole/Born in Serbian Province" was founded by a group of enthusiasts interested in alternative rock and punk music, wish to initiate this segment of social and cultural life in their local community. We started our activity in 2000 and we are officially registered in June 2015 in the "Agency for Business Registers", Republic of Serbia.

 Municipality Svilajnac supported our five projects:  „ROKENROLOM DO KULTURE“ (2015), „NOVI TALAS - NOVI UDAR“ (2016), „IGRA ŠARMA UZ RITAM BLUZA“ (2017), „NI KORAK NAZAD!!!“ (2018) “ZA KORAK BLIŽE“ (2019),“Nikad se ne Predaj, Nikad ne Odustaj “(2023).

Our town Svilajnac (10 000 st.)  is  located 100 km south from Belgrade. Svilajnac does not have a Youth Center, nor any alike  rock clubs for  such events, so we organized our concerts in rent clubs and bars. In such described condictions we organized our concerts. We organized our  first gig at the Democratic Party club on 22.01. 2000. Then we found  place in Kafana (balkan pub) at " Djoka the roper", in the club of "Reserve Officers", in the club "Moscow", who later changed his name to Lobi Bar, waiting room on  "Svilajnac Railway Station", in Kafana (balkan pub) at "Joksa", in the Moto Club "Kings of Liberty", in the "Bistro Fishermen's Club", Kafana" Biser". The Buffo`s Wake (UK) and second gig Lord Bishop Rocks (USA / Brasil) were organized in the theater of Culture Center Svilajnac.

We participated in the World Music Day event on June 21th 2015, when the French band Vagina Town and White Rabbit Band from Belgrade performed.
The main actors in these concert events, in recent years in Svilajnac, are rock bands from abroad. Opening Serbia to the world, striving to join EU countries and at the same time granting citizens of those countries the possibility to enter Serbia without visas, was a green light to many rock bands to visit and play in Serbia at the same time. Musicians from foreign countries toured Serbia as part of their European tours and presented their musical skills to rockers in Svilajnac. Good geographical location of Svilajnac, our desire to  socialize  and get to know other cultures and nations with hospitality and quality organization of concerts, were a good recommendation for all these bands to perform in Svilajnac.

So far we have organized  about eighteen concerts. Municipality Svilajnac has patron for twenty-two concerts as part of four projects. In Svilajnac beside bands from Serbia, we hosted rock groups from nineteen countries, with  four continents. ( Russia, UK, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Hungary, Germany, Mexico, France, Faroe Islands, Brazil, USA, Australia, Uruguay, Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenia, Finland, Spain ).

    On thе exhibition is exposed photos from concerts which this               association organized in last 20 years.

Academic painters who exhibited their  art pictures within the projects: Anđela Micić (Svilajnac), Miloš Šebeković (Beograd), Nevena Pavlović (Kruševac), comics artist Bojan Milojevic Asterian (Belgrade), amateur artists from Workshops for Good Spirits (Petrovac na Mlavi) and young amateur artists from Svilajnac.
